His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Monday, with the Speaker of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, to discuss developments in the Yemeni situation and ways to strengthen relations in the legislative aspects and coordinate positions in various regional and international forums in order to serve the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
The meeting, in the presence of members of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh and Abdullah Al-Alimi, touched on the long-standing historical relations between the two countries, and the efforts required to push them to broader horizons at various levels.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the Jordanian role alongside the Yemeni people, their government and their political leadership, and supported their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
For his part, the Speaker of the Jordanian Senate affirmed the commitment of the Kingdom of Jordan to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government, and all efforts aimed at restoring security and stability and ending the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, and the Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Ali Al-Omrani.
