The President of the General Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Saleh Al-Eisi, received the coach of the first Czech national team, Miroslav Skop, who arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and his assistant team, to take over the leadership of our national team during the coming period.


During the meeting, which was attended by Hossam Al-Sanabani, Vice-Chairman of the Emergency Committee of the federation, and the legal advisor to the president of the federation, Abdul Wasea Abdel-Malik, Sheikh Al-Eisi welcomed the new technical director of the national team and his assistant team, and expressed his hope that Scoop would achieve the required success with our team during the coming period.


Sheikh Al-Eisi spoke about the Football Association's strategy related to the first national team over the next three years, based on the gradual construction of the team and the renewal of all its elements with emerging players from the age groups teams, so that they can give and contribute to the development of Yemeni football and present a different image than it previously appeared, with Interest in providing a good level in the nearest posts.


 Noting that the General Football Association, despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through, is very keen on the continuation of the participation of national teams of all age groups, with the aim of giving the first national team a stock of young and distinguished players who can serve the goals of the federation in developing the performance of the first team and achieving Achievements that make the Yemeni masses happy.


Pointing out that his keenness to bring coach Scoop and his assistant team to participate in the 25th Gulf Cup in Iraq comes within the framework of implementing an ambitious plan for the federation in the short term by achieving positive participation in the 25th Gulf Cup and in the long term by developing the first team.


He stressed that he puts all the capabilities of the federation and its human cadres under the service of Scoop, to also supervise the junior, youth and Olympic teams during the coming period, in addition to his leadership of the first national team.


Addressing coach Scoop, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Eisi said: We are in full agreement in our visions and future strategy, and we ask you to establish a next stage during which you will present a distinguished Yemeni team in which you will be mentioned for many years.


Al-Eisi added: Our country is full of talents that need your expertise to hone and develop them.


For his part, the Czech coach Miroslav Skop expressed his happiness to return again to the leadership of the national team and to deal with Sheikh Ahmed Al-Eisi and the Yemeni Football Association in a new challenge for him, benefiting from his previous experience with Yemeni football.


He gave an explanation of his strategy that he will adopt in his work, which is in line with the federation's vision of a balanced short and long-term action plan based on summoning young players and renewing the team's ranks according to a gradual plan that gives the team a technical advantage in various external participations.


Scoop said: We are focusing on a plan of action for three full years that includes a team under the age of 23 in its participation next year in the Asian continent qualifiers, and a junior team that will participate in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, in a way that enables the first team to qualify for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup finals.


And he indicated that his continuous communication with his assistant, the national coach, Muhammad Al-Zuraiqi, during the current team camp in Aden, enabled him to see the nature of the players currently available and that he laid the foundations on which his assistant is currently proceeding in the preparation program and his selection of local players according to certain specifications and a gradual age to build the team.


He expressed his desire to see the level of professional players and diaspora players who play matches regularly at this stage, which includes the Gulf Cup next January, then the West Asian Championship next March 2023.


Pointing out that his strategy is based on selecting young players according to individual specifications and personal characteristics for each player, which includes commitment, discipline, speed of response, enthusiasm, fighting spirit and guerrillaism on the field, then readiness to work for the team, relying on strength and speed as well as the individual skills and technique of each player.


It is worth noting that our first national team is currently preparing in the city of Aden, led by assistant coach Muhammad Al-Zuraiqi, to compete in the 25th Gulf Cup competitions in Iraq from January 6 to January 19, then the West Asian Championship in the UAE next March 2023.


 Our team will start its first outdoor camp in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the coming days, under the supervision of Coach Scoop.
