The French national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the Qatar World Cup 2022 by defeating its Polish counterpart, 3-1, in the match that brought them together at Al-Thumama Stadium in the round of 16.
The French took the lead in the final minutes of the first half, with a goal scored by Giroud in the 44th minute.
In the second half, Mbappe added the second goal for France in the 74th minute.
In stoppage time, Mbappe scored the third goal for France.
The Polish national team narrowed the difference from a penalty kick scored by Lewandowski in stoppage time, to end the match with France's superiority by three goals to Poland's goal.
With this result, the French national team qualifies for the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and Poland bids farewell to the tournament.
