Gulf countries condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by the leader of the Danish anti-immigration and anti-Islam movement "storm chorus", Rasmus Paludan, on Saturday, in front of the Turkish Embassy in the Swedish capital Stockholm.
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah said in a statement published by the official KUNA news agency that this event "inflames the feelings of Muslims around the world and represents a serious provocation for them".
The Kuwaiti minister called on the international community to shoulder its responsibility, renounce all manifestations of hatred, violence and extremism, hold perpetrators accountable and not link religion to politics.
He also called on him to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence between different peoples, and to prevent any form of abuse of religions.
In turn, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed the kingdom's strong condemnation and condemnation of the Swedish authorities for allowing an extremist to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.

The UAE Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation affirmed, in a statement, the UAE's permanent rejection of all practices aimed at destabilizing security and stability that are contrary to humanitarian and moral values and principles.
The ministry renewed its permanent call to renounce hate speech and violence, respect religious symbols, avoid inciting hatred by insulting religions and holy places, and the need to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence.
The state of Qatar also condemned the Swedish authorities ' permission to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm, considering the heinous incident "an act of incitement and a serious provocation to the feelings of more than two billion Muslims in the world".
The Ministry of foreign affairs stressed in a statement that the state of Qatar completely rejects all forms of hate speech based on belief, race or religion, and the inclusion of the sacred in political disputes.
She warned that hate campaigns against Islam and Islamophobic discourse have witnessed a serious escalation with the continuation of systematic calls to repeatedly target Muslims in the world.

The ministry reiterated Qatar's full support for the values of tolerance and coexistence, and its keenness to establish the principles of international peace and security through dialogue and understanding.

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry renewed Manama's call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in criminalizing acts and calls inciting extremism and religious or racial hatred, including combating Islamophobia, xenophobia and anti-Muslim crimes, preventing abuse of all religions, beliefs, holy sites and religious symbols, and constructive cooperation in establishing a culture of peace, tolerance, mutual respect, dialogue and coexistence among nations, religions and civilizations.
For his part, GCC secretary general Nayef Al-Hajraf condemned the Swedish authorities ' allowing an extremist to burn the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm, which would inflame the feelings of Muslims around the world and provoke them.
Al-Hajraf stressed in an official statement the GCC's firm position calling for the importance of spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and rejection of hatred and extremism, calling on the international community to assume responsibilities to stop such unacceptable acts.
On Friday, the Swedish authorities issued a decision allowing "Paludan" to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy building in Stockholm.
Following the decision, Ankara summoned the ambassador of Sweden to it, and informed him of its condemnation in the strongest terms.
The Stockholm Police Department said Paludan had received permission to hold a demonstration near the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.
Swedish state television reported that Swedish journalist Chang Frick offered Paludan to burn a copy of the Koran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, and guaranteed him to cover all expenses.
In a statement to state television, Frick claimed that he had paid for the permit for the demonstration, which was obtained from the police, and that he would exercise his right to cover it as a journalist.
The far-right politician Paludan has been carrying out provocative actions by burning copies of the Koran in various cities of Denmark since 2017.
