Sergey Chemezov, CEO of the Russian state corporation Rostec, said in an interview with Sputnik that the passenger aircraft" Ms-21 "will be certified and will enter production by the end of 2024.
"In 2023, we plan to start testing other systems in the aircraft in order to certify a fully Russian aircraft by the end of 2024 and start mass production," Chemezov said. Some of these systems are already undergoing bench tests,"he said.
"We solved the engine problem, using the Black wing,"Chemezov added.
The Russian aviation enterprise "Rosaviatsia" has received approval for the main changes to the standard design related to the installation of the "PD-14" engine and the wing made of domestic materials.
Chemezov said that the tests of the "PD-8" engine of the Sukhoi Superjet for obtaining a type certificate are scheduled to be completed this year.
And the engine was designed to replace the foreign engines of the Superjet, which were initially used in the project, since difficulties arose in their supply due to sanctions.
"The task is very difficult, our airlines are working at maximum capacity, no one in the world has implemented such projects in such a time frame,"concluded Chemezov.
