The Department of the defense acquisition program (DAPA) in South Korea revealed that Seoul plans to launch the first military reconnaissance satellite in November as part of a project to deploy a total of 5 satellites within the middle of the third decade of the current century
According to the briefing of the Department of the defense acquisition program (DAPA) to the defense committee of the National Assembly, the plan to launch a photovoltaic infrared satellite within the framework of the project is worth 1.2 trillion won, equivalent to about (927 million dollars).
The reconnaissance satellites are expected to enhance South Korea's comprehensive capabilities to monitor and track North Korea's military movements, once they enter service.
