Beijing-agencies :
Today, the Central Bank of China issued bonds worth 25 billion yuan, equivalent to about 3.65 billion US dollars.
The bank said in a statement published by the Chinese news agency Xinhua that the bonds will mature worth 10 billion yuan within three months, and the other batch of bonds worth 15 billion yuan will mature in one year, at interest rates of 2.4 percent and 2.75 percent, respectively.
"The issuance was well received by foreign investors, as the total tenders exceeded 70 billion yuan, about 2.8 times more than the issued value,"the central bank said.
"The tenders reflect the strong attraction of renminbi assets to foreign investors and their confidence in the Chinese economy,"he added.
