What is the design of the 2022 World Cup ball?
The Journey was designed inside and out using data generated from rigorous tests in the adidas laboratories related to the wind movement on the court, and ended up crafting the Journey that gives the highest levels of accuracy and stability on the court.
The CTR-CORE interior design is highly innovative, tuned to improve accuracy and stability and support quick play in the best possible way, especially as the ball moves through the air.
The SPEEDSHELL ball skin is made of polyurethane (PU) and features a fine, generous texture and a new 20-piece panel shape, which enhances aerodynamics for improved accuracy, stability of velocity in the air and change of motion while shooting.
Designed with the environment in mind, all components have been carefully chosen, and The Journey is the first World Cup ball to be made using only water-based inks and adhesives.
