Today in Mukalla, the Governor of Hadramout Mabkhout, Mubarak bin Madi, chaired a meeting with the general directors of the Hadramout coast districts, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the local council in the governorate, Saleh Abboud Al-Amqi, the governorate’s deputies, and specialists in the Planning and International Cooperation and Finance offices.
The meeting was devoted to discussing the evaluation report of the projects of the investment program of the local authority of the coastal districts for the period from January to August 2022.
The meeting reviewed the level of achievement and implementation of development projects in the coastal districts, and discussed the performance evaluation of the levels of implementation of projects funded by local authorities in the districts and the governorate, the difficulties facing stalled projects and the causes of stumbling, and the procedures to address and improve revenues.
The evaluation report of the projects of the investment program of the local authority for the coastal directorates for the period from January to August 2022 AD indicated the approved allocations for the directorates and the level of spending on projects, as the number of projects approved for the coastal directorates reached 139 projects, the amount allocated for them amounted to 2 billion, 783 million and 982 thousand riyals, and the total expenditure amounted to It has one billion and 206 million and 358 thousand riyals, with a financial expenditure rate of 43.3%, and the number of completed projects reached 31%, and work is underway at 37%, and the stalled projects are 18, and work on them has not started 49.
The total value of contracts signed by the local authorities in the districts until the end of August 2022 amounted to 8 billion 341 million 284 thousand riyals, for 139 projects, on which the amount of 3 billion 897 million 815 riyals was spent until the end of August 2022, or 46.7%.
Governor Bin Madi stressed the importance of evaluating work, finding solutions for stalled projects, and reviewing completion rates, referring to the adoption of a coordination mechanism to hold quarterly meetings to review completion and failure rates and address them, stressing the improvement and development of work and activating revenues during the year 2023 AD.
