Today in Mukalla, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, discussed with the Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Aden Office, Mr. Mark Jordan, and the Director of the Program Office, the Mukalla Office, Maria Digesto, the organization's plans to expand and complete the targeted livelihood programs in the governorate's districts.
The governor, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the governorate, Saleh Aboud Al-Amqi, listened to the program's interventions in building the capacity of local communities and supporting their resilience through projects to improve livelihoods, support nutrition programs for children and women and health projects.
The Director of the World Food Program in Aden, Mr. Mark Jordan, praised the great cooperation of the leadership of the local authority in Hadhramaut with the programs and activities of the program, stressing that this contributes to more interventions and helps in the success of the organization's plans and programs in Hadramout.
The Governor of Hadhramaut expressed his thanks to the World Food Program for providing Mukalla Port with two container incubators, praising the program's activity and interventions, describing it as one of the most active organizations operating in Hadramawt and the country, noting the importance of intervening more in the future with development projects according to the needs of local communities.
Governor bin Madi stressed the appreciation of the local authority and citizens for the humanitarian interventions of the United Nations World Food Program, which provides assistance to more than 90 million people in more than 70 countries around the world, according to which the program was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2020, directed by facilitating and succeeding the program’s interventions in the directorates of Governorate.
