At the inauguration, Dr. Muhammad Saleh Al-Jamahi, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Hadramout Al-Sahel, indicated that this course is very important as it targets health workers at the border crossings, appreciating their efforts during the past period, especially during the Corona pandemic, calling on the participants to benefit from its outputs in a way that contributes to improving The quality of work, raising the level of health services, and developing their skills in the field of monitoring imported cases through the ports, wishing them success in their tasks.


For his part, Dr. Ali Jaoul, Director of the World Health Organization in Hadramout, indicated that this course comes in coordination with the Health and Population Office in the governorate to qualify health workers in the ports and train them on how to deal with diseases and epidemics, stressing that there are other courses and programs that will be implemented during the coming period to build the capacity of the health staff in In various fields, stressing the need to create a database for health workers who have been trained in health facilities in the governorate.


For his part, Dr. Jamal Almas, Director of the Ports and Quarantine Health Department at the Ministry of Health and Population, said that this course comes with the support of the World Health Organization to build infrastructure for the border crossings, as well as develop the skills and capabilities of health workers at the crossings, as they are the gateway to the country, indicating that the course targets workers At the ports (Mukalla Port, Al-Shihr Port, Qusayr, Al-Rayyan International Airport), the participants called for the importance of such courses and benefiting from them to raise the efficiency of workers and develop their capabilities, which would contribute to discovering imported cases through the border crossings.


For his part, Mr. Omar Bakrshom, Director of the Ports and Quarantine Health Department at the Ministry of Health and Population's office in Hadramout Al-Sahel, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the ministry's leadership for organizing this training course, which will contribute to raising the capabilities of workers in the various ports and introducing them to the procedures required to deal with cases, appreciating their efforts in health work in ports during the past period.


It is worth mentioning that this course comes within the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Public Health and Population on the need to arrange health procedures at the border crossings in anticipation of any emergency or epidemic and to be optimally prepared for that. All countries develop their basic capacity with regard to ports, airports and land crossings, and through what was caused by the Corona pandemic and monkeypox, it was necessary for the General Administration of Ports and Quarantine Health to arrange health procedures with regard to preparedness and preparation for pandemics and outbreaks during the coming period.
