Within the framework of the implementation of the (Protection) initiative, which is being implemented by the Athar Maker team in Al-Shahr district, as part of the outputs of the Athr Maker program, which was set up by the Resonate Foundation! Yemen began today, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 AD, the implementation of the joint workshop for the local, judicial, security, educational, social and labor authorities, which targeted (15) participants.
It is a dialogue workshop in which representatives of the local authorities, security services, judges, prosecutors, and representatives of the Yemeni Women's Union participate.
The work of the workshop was opened with a speech by the implementing team on the spread of the phenomenon of sexual harassment against children, its causes and ways to reduce it. The Deputy Director General of Al-Shihr Directorate, Mr. Musabeh Al-Abd Al-Bahsani, appreciated the efforts made to eliminate extraneous phenomena in society.
The workshop facilitator, Mr. Salah Bamahidi, discussed a working paper on defining harassment and its meanings, types of harassment, who is the harasser, types of parents in dealing with the harasser, images of sexual harassment, the age of exposure to harassment, symptoms of harassment, and the role of specialists in dealing with the victim.
Interventions were made by the President of the Al-Shihr Court of First Instance, Judge Abu Bakr Mohsen Al-Khulaifi and the Public Prosecutor Fouad Jaber Al-Ardi, in addition to the interventions of the Security Director of the Al-Shihr Directorate, Colonel Awad bin Akkas Al-Awthani, in addition to the interventions of the representatives of the Awqaf Office, the Education Office, the Social Affairs and Labor Office, and representatives of the Women and Child Department. Among the recommendations and outputs to contribute to reducing the spread of this phenomenon among the community.
