Gold prices rose on Tuesday as the dollar weakened, but efforts by regulators to calm concerns about the global banking system affected investor appetite for gold.
Gold in spot transactions rose by 0.2 percent, bringing its price to 1959.63 dollars per ounce.
US gold futures rose 0.3 percent to 1960.30 dollars per ounce.
