The German national team defeated its French counterpart in the penalty shootout (4-3), after they tied in regular time with two goals to the same, in the final match of the U-17 World Cup, which was held on the grounds of “Manahan” Stadium in Indonesia, thus achieving the championship title for the first time in its history.
The German national team ended the first half in its favour, after taking the lead with a goal scored by Barry Broner from a penalty kick in the 29th minute.
The Germans strengthened their advantage in the second half, adding a second goal through Noah Darwish in the 51st minute, before the French team reduced the score through Simon Bouabry in the 53rd minute.
The "Roosters" team adjusted the balance in the 85th minute through player Matthijs Amogo, so the two sides decided to go to penalty kicks, in which luck smiled in favor of Germany (4-3).
