The French national team achieved a wide victory over the Australian national team, by four goals to one, in its first match at the opening of the Qatar World Cup 2022, in the match that brought them together at Al Janoub Stadium in the first round of Group D.
Greg Goodwin opened the goals of the France-Australia match early, as he scored the roosters in the 9th minute.
Adrien Rabiot equalized for the defending champions with a header in the 27th minute, courtesy of Theo Hernandez.
Rabiot shone again and set up Olivier Giroud's second goal in the 32nd minute.
The first half ended with France advancing 2-0.
Kylian Mbappe added the third goal for the Dukes in the 68th minute.
Giroud continued his brilliance and scored his second personal goal and the fourth for France in the 71st minute.
As a result of the France-Australia match, the defending champion was awarded 3 important points by leading the group ranking table, followed by Tunisia in second place with a point, then Denmark with the same balance in third place, while Australia was bottom of the standings.
