His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Monday, with Council member Faraj Al-Bahsani, the ambassadors of the permanent members of the Security Council and the European Union accredited to Yemen, with whom he discussed the developments in the Yemeni arena, and the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist escalation on the humanitarian situation, peace and security internationals.
In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council presented the results of the reforms led by the Council and the government during the past period at all levels, and the international support required to strengthen the path of those reforms.
The President referred to the achievements in the areas of institutional and service building, efforts to combat corruption, and protect rights and freedoms, including activating the role of judicial, parliamentary, and oversight bodies.
The president also touched on the ongoing efforts to rebuild the army and security institutions, according to the results of the report of the joint security and military committee, in addition to service reforms in various sectors with the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the unified international position on the Yemeni issue, stressing the adherence of the Council and the government to a comprehensive solution to the crisis in accordance with the agreed references nationally, regionally and internationally.
The President reminded the group of foreign ambassadors of the peace efforts that the terrorist militias turned against, including the declaration of a truce, through which the militias proved to the world that they are not a serious partner for peace.
The Chairman of the Presidential Command Council praised, in this context, the position of the countries of the coalition to support legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which provided all facilities for the success of the truce, noting in particular the Kingdom's initiative to establish peace, security and stability in Yemen.
His Excellency the President warned that the Houthi terrorist attacks on the economic infrastructure would torpedo peace efforts, in addition to their catastrophic humanitarian repercussions, which may include the government's inability to pay the salaries of employees and fulfill its basic obligations towards citizens, confirming that it retains the right to respond to these violations supported by the Iranian regime. .
"This escalation by the Houthi militia confirms the extent of its dependence on the Iranian regime, whose operations in the region are run by its Revolutionary Guard from one black room," he said.
The Chairman of the Presidential Command Council placed the foreign ambassadors before government measures to deter terrorist violations of international law in accordance with the National Defense Council's decision to classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist organization... reassuring the humanitarian community of taking into account their relief interventions throughout the country.
For their part, the group of foreign ambassadors praised the government's initiatives in order to alleviate human suffering, and its serious handling of efforts to calm down.. They affirmed their full support for the economic and service reforms led by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in the liberated governorates.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.
