On Tuesday morning, October 8, 2022, the Yemeni Red Crescent launched the Al-Dhalea branch, distributing food baskets funded by the Qatari Red Crescent to 599 displaced families and the poorest and most vulnerable families in the Qataba district of Al-Dhalea governorate.


During the inauguration - which was attended by Mr. Abdul-Karim Saleh Qassem, the coordinator of the operations room in the Yemeni Red Crescent - Mr. Abdul-Qader Muhammad Salih, the relief and disaster coordinator in the Yemeni Red Crescent, stated that this project comes as an emergency response to the needs of the displaced families and the poorest and most vulnerable families in Qataba district in order to meet the needs Lifesaving staple food.


He pointed out that this project is funded by the Qatar Red Crescent and implemented by the Yemen Red Crescent, Al-Dhalea branch, and comes in order to contribute to improving people's living standards and in response to the needs of those affected in the field of food security.


For his part, the Director of the Executive Unit in the Directorate of Qataba, Mr. Sabri Al-Najjar, praised the efforts of the Yemeni Red Crescent team, praising their great efforts in contributing to the service of the displaced and the most affected, the poorest and most vulnerable families, stressing that this emergency humanitarian food aid comes at the right time and people are in dire need of it to alleviate the their human suffering.


He pointed out that the executive unit and the local authority in the district of Qataba have facilitated and will facilitate all activities related to the activities of the Yemeni Red Crescent in order to achieve the success of the project to the fullest and best image.


He called on the Yemeni Red Crescent and its supporters to exert more efforts in serving the people and to expand activities and interventions in the district of Qataba in order to alleviate human suffering.


It is worth noting that the food basket consists of 10 kilos of rice, 25 kilos of flour, 4 kilos of dates, 10 kilos of sugar, 12 cans of beans, 4 liters of oil and 2 kilos of salt.


The inauguration was attended by a group of activists and humanitarian workers, volunteers from the Executive Unit team in the Qataba District and the Yemeni Red Crescent team, Al-Dhalea branch.
