The Governor of Hadhramout inaugurates the training diploma for the preparation of special education for autistic teachers

The Governor of Hadramout, Professor Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, inaugurated today at the Hadramout University Student Training Center in Mukalla, the training diploma for the preparation of special education for autism teachers.


The course, in which 47 female teachers from the Hadramout Autism Foundation in Mukalla participate, is being supervised by local experts from the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in coordination between the university and the institution.


The governor praised the establishment of such specific programs for autism teachers under the supervision of local and Arab consultants to provide humanitarian services, knowledge and expertise to an important segment to integrate them with their counterparts in society, indicating that this knowledge would raise the efficiency of teachers, which would reflect positively on children with autism and autism centers in the Republic.


At the opening of the program, which was attended by the two deputies of Hadramout University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Babeer, and for Student Affairs, Dr. Salem Al-Awthani, the head of the Hadramout Foundation for Autism, Abdullah Saeed Basmad, reviewed the activities of the institution, which was established in 2012 and is the largest center in the Republic, working to rehabilitate 200 children, and graduate Of these, 60 children have been integrated into public and private education schools and the vocational labor market, indicating that the institution has previously worked on rehabilitating 300 female teachers at the hands of specialists from the Arab Republic of Egypt, which contributed to improving performance and student response.


While the psychologist, lecturer in the program, from the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Sameh Arafa expressed his happiness and his colleagues from Egypt and Jordan to participate in the program, which is concerned with a great human group and a human plant that deserves care and attention.


Autism is neither a disability nor a disease. It is a neurological disorder that a child suffers from in his early years, resulting in deficiencies in social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and stereotypical behaviors.


The inauguration of the program was attended by the two general directors of the offices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Ahmed Salem Bazarous, and the Endowments and Guidance Sheikh Ahmed Ali Al-Saadi, and the Secretary-General of Hadramout University, Abdullah Aideed.
