Former US President Donald Trump, from the Mar-a-Lago producer, officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections in 2024 AD, a week after the midterm elections in which the Republicans failed to win the number of seats they hoped for in Congress.
Trump earlier presented his candidacy credentials to the US Federal Elections Commission, in a move that is expected to pave the way for a fierce battle within the Republican Party to win the presidential candidacy card.
Trump will be the fifth president in the history of the United States to take this step, hoping that he will have better luck than the three who preceded him in that step.
Trump vowed to prevent incumbent President Joe Biden's re-election in 2024, telling his supporters: "I will make sure Biden does not get another four years," adding: "Our country cannot afford that."
"In order to make America great again, tonight I am announcing my candidacy for President of the United States," Trump told a crowd of his family and donors.
While US President Joe Biden responded to Donald Trump's announcement of his candidacy again for the presidential elections, by saying, "The former Republican president" failed "his country while he was in office."
