Follow-ups:
The new owner of Twitter announced in a tweet a monthly fee of $8 for users who wish to verify their accounts on the platform.
"Power to the people! Blue for $8 a month," Musk wrote in a tweet, referring to the blue verification mark that appears near verified accounts, explaining that the new plan would overturn the "current lords and peasants system" and create a new source of revenue for the platform.
Musk indicated that the price will be adjusted according to the country "in proportion to the purchasing power."
Musk offered that if you subscribe to this service, other features will be added.
"You will also get priority in responses, mentions, and search, which is essential to defeating spam and fraud," he said.
He added that those who will activate this feature will have the ability to post long videos or audio files, and reduce the number of ads in half.
Musk said this new system would give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators.
