The minister of transport, communications and Information Technology of Oman, Saeed bin Hammoud Al-Mawli, announced his country's intention to launch the first satellite in 2025.
During a seminar on the future of the space sector in the Sultanate, Al-Mawali explained that "several parties are working to accomplish this work in light of obtaining the appropriate financing tools for this project, at the end of last year".
"We were late in booking the orbit due to funding delays, so we started booking a new orbit so that the new launch will be two years from now,"he added.
