The US space agency NASA has revealed the date of the appearance of a “rare” comet in the sky for the first time in 50 thousand years.
The comet was discovered on March 2, 2022 by astronomers using wide-field survey cameras, belonging to the “Palomar” Observatory in San Diego, California.
According to” NASA", the comet will make its closest approach to the sun on January 12.
The “Earth Sky " website reported that those wishing to watch the comet in the northern hemisphere, using binoculars and telescopes, will have to look at the northeast horizon shortly before midnight to observe it on January 12.
And for those who want to watch the comet in the southern hemisphere, they will be able to in early February.
The comet can be distinguished from the stars by the green atmosphere that appears to be emitted from it, which is a gas released from it when it approaches the sun.
