Germany settled its position with Argentina in the semi-finals of the U-17 World Cup on penalties 4-2 after their 3-3 draw on Tuesday in Surakarta, Indonesia, and reached the final of the competition for the second time after the inaugural 1985 edition.
In the final match scheduled for Saturday, Germany will meet the winner between France and Mali, which will be held later at Manahan Stadium as well.
Germany took the lead through Paris Bronner (9), before Riverplate striker Agustin Roberto responded with a brace (36, 45 + 4). But Broner equalized the numbers in the second half (58), before his teammate Max Morstedt gave his country the lead again (69).
In stoppage time, Roberto achieved the hat-trick by forcing penalty kicks (90+7), raising his score to 8 goals at the top of the scorers list.
Argentina missed the first two penalty kicks in the penalty shootout, in light of the brilliance of goalkeeper Konstantin Heide, in exchange for a missed kick for Germany, which Broner, the Borussia Dortmund player, once again awarded the qualification card.

The tournament was originally scheduled for Peru, but the International Federation (FIFA) decided to withdraw hosting from it due to its failure to fulfill its obligations related to completing the necessary infrastructure for hosting on time. Indonesia was chosen as an alternative country last June.
