Berlin - Agencies:
The inflation rate in Germany rose for the second month in a row in November, reaching 2.2 percent on an annual basis, exceeding the 2 percent limit for the first time since last July.
The German Federal Statistical Office explained in a statement today that consumer prices in Germany, on a monthly basis, decreased by 0.2 percent compared to last October.
The statement indicated that food and service prices remain the main driver of inflation, with experts expecting the upward trend in the annual inflation rate to continue in the coming months, although inflation is expected to remain at relatively moderate levels.
Inflation in Germany is still far from the high inflation levels recorded last year, as it reached 1.6 percent last September, its lowest level since February 2021.
