South Korea's consumer prices, a key gauge of inflation, rose 1.5 percent on-year in November, following a 1.3 percent on-year increase in October.
Statistics Korea said in a statement that consumer inflation in South Korea has remained below 3 percent since April and fell below the target rate of 2 percent for the first time in September. It noted that overall prices of agricultural, livestock and fishery products rose 1 percent on-year last month.
The data showed that core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose 1.9 percent compared with a 1.8 percent on-year increase in October.
The data showed that prices of daily necessities, or 144 items closely related to people's daily lives, such as food, clothing and housing, rose 1.6 percent last month.
