His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Monday, with Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament Ahmed Al-Safadi, to discuss developments in the Yemeni situation and opportunities to strengthen relations in the legislative aspects, and coordinate positions in support of efforts to restore security and stability in Yemen.
The meeting, in the presence of members of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh and Abdullah Al-Alimi, touched on bilateral cooperation in the legislative and political fields, and the role required to support the Yemeni cause, advocating the aspirations of the Yemeni people and alleviating their human suffering.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised Jordan's honorable position within the framework of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, including hosting thousands of Yemenis fleeing the scourge of the unjust war ignited by the terrorist Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
For his part, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament affirmed the parliament's unity regarding the Yemeni file and its firm support for constitutional legitimacy represented by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and close coordination between the two brotherly countries in various regional and international forums.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, and the Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Ali Al-Omrani.
