The US dollar failed to maintain its recovery on Thursday amid anticipation of a key reading of inflation in the United States.
The dollar struggled to maintain its gains after rising 0.48 percent in the previous session, as the dollar index fell 0.07 percent to 100.94 points.
The New Zealand dollar performed remarkably strongly in the Asian session and rose to an eight-month high of $0.6295.
The euro retreated slightly and reached $1.1135 in the latest trading.
The British pound rose 0.14 percent to $1.3209.
