The Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, stressed that the city of Ash-Shihr is great with its heritage and historical evidence, and that it deserves an event and a scientific and cultural event that brings back to Ash-Shihr something of its history as the capital of art and culture.
The governor directed to study the establishment of an annual cultural, scientific and artistic event in the city of Ash-Shihr, which is concerned with reminding the history of Ash-Shihr and Hadhramaut, and it starts from the occasion of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the epic of the Portuguese invasion of the city, which falls on February 28, 2023 AD.
Governor Bin Madi discussed, during his meeting today in Mukalla, the leadership of the Hadhramaut Center for Historical Studies and the Hadhramout Foundation for Culture, the visions of holding a scientific, cultural and artistic event in the city of Al Shihr next year, which was established for an annual cultural and scientific festival, which includes research, studies, and scientific, cultural, artistic and heritage activities that reflect the history of Al Shihr. Hadramawt in general.
The Governor of Hadhramaut, from the President of the Hadhramaut Center for Historical Studies, Dr. Abdullah Saeed Al-Jaidi, and the Executive Director of the Hadhramaut Foundation for Culture, Shorouk Al-Ramadi, listened to the activities of the Center and the Foundation in the fields of culture, history, art and theater, and mutual coordination to revive the cultural movement.
During the meeting, the governor received a copy of the new edition of the researcher, Professor Abdullah Al-Jaidi, entitled "Midway Meditations", praising the book, which contains samples of different articles, and considering it "meditations for the middle age."
