The Senegalese national team qualified for the second round by defeating its Ecuadorian counterpart, with two goals to one, in its third match in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, in the match that brought them together at Khalifa International Stadium in the third round of Group A.
The first half ended with Senegal advancing with a goal scored by Ismaila in the 44th minute.
In the second half, the Ecuadorian national team scored the equalizing goal, scored by Moises Casid in the 67th minute.
In the 70th minute, Khalidou Coulibaly scored the second goal for Senegal.
