The University of Aden awarded, today, an honorary doctorate degree to the great Yemeni artist Mohammed Mohsen atroush, for what he gave to the homeland during his artistic career.
At the honoring ceremony held by the University at the Ibn Khaldun Hall at the Faculty of Arts in Khor Maksar, in the presence of the minister of Information, Culture and tourism Muammar al-Eryani, a number of deputy ministers, provincial undersecretaries, members of Parliament, academic and social figures, and hundreds of fans of the artist, the president of the University of Aden, Dr. Al-Khader Nasser lasour, read out the decision of the University President No. 610 to grant an honorary doctorate to the able artist Mohammed attrush.
The decision, which was based on the Republican decision by Law No. 18 of 1995 and its amendments, on Yemeni universities, and on the Republican Decision No. 32 of 2007, on the implementation of the executive regulations of the Yemeni universities law, and on the Republican Decision No. 120 of 2016, on the appointment of the president of the University of Aden, and on the decision of the University Council No. 486 of 2022 to grant an honorary doctorate to the artist, Mohammed Mohsen his chest.
He stressed to tyre that the granting of this important national doctorate was not the result of a moment or a courtesy whim, but rather formed academic and artistic committees that reviewed everything the artist has achieved over the past decades to confirm his entitlement to this doctorate..He pointed out that this reflects the appreciation of the university, its council and all its employees and its gratitude for the volume of tenders submitted by the artist atroush, through which he was able to draw his place in the hearts of the general public in various segments, through his unique national, struggle and artistic career in its distinctive and simple style.
For his part, the minister of Information, Culture and Tourism said, "I was honored to participate in the honoring ceremony organized by the University of Aden under the leadership of my brother, the president of the University of Aden, Dr. Al-Khader Nasser lasour, to award an honorary doctorate degree to the great and able professor and artist Mohammed Mohsen atroush, who left immortal imprints in the hearts and consciences of all Yemenis.

The ceremony featured popular poems and speeches by the organizing preparatory committee and the artist's friends, delivered by member of the House of Representatives Khaled Saleh Shaif, during which he listed details of the artist's completion stages and his artistic and educational stops spent between Egypt and Yemen.
